1.0. SAFETY
1.1 There was no accident, over SECR, reportable to Railway Board during the month of October’2008

2.0. TRAFFIC
2.1 SECR has achieved originating loading of 11.26 Million Tonnes (approx) during October’2008 which is 0.10 Million Tonnes more than the corresponding period of last year. With this the cumulative loading has gone upto 74.61 Million Tonnes (approx) which is 6.05 Million Tonnes more than last year. Average loading of wagons per day was 5517 (8-wheeler) which is 399 (7.8%) more than last year..
2.2. SECR has achieved highest ever coal loading at Korba i.e.34.4 rakes/day. The previous best was 33.6 rakes/day in September’2008. IB valley also registered the higher ever coal loading of 19.8 rakes/day, compared to be previous best of 19.3 rakes/day in June’08. Non programmed coal loading was highest ever i.e 53 rakes.
2.3. Total coal loading was 4264 (8 wheeler) wagons per day which is 470 (12.3%) wagons per day more than last year. Similarly, loading of raw material for Steel Plant was 497 wagons per day which is 44 (9.2%) wagons/day more than last year.

3.0. COMMERCIAL
3.1. Agencies for JSTB (Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking) sevak have been finalized for Raipur, Durg, Bhilai Power House and Bhilainagar stations in Raipur Division.
3.2. SECR by its marketing efforts has captured e-auctional coal traffic. During the month, Rs.11.63 crores was earned because of this new traffic. A total of 51 rakes were loaded for different destinations.

4.0. FINANCE
4.1. Freight earning during October’08 was Rs.702.58 crores (approx) as against Rs.707.64 crores achieved during the corresponding month of last year.
