Achievement and System Improvement of Mechanical department for 2007-08
Achievement and System Improvement of Mechanical department for 2007-08 Freight :-
1.     8 rakes of BOBS wagons were converted to BOBSNM1 25T axle load within the Board’s target of July’07 which is excellent work done by SECR.  This has greatly helped to boost the loading of iron ore in Dallirajhara section.
2.      SEC Railway continued to maintain cumulative freight ineffective at 3.1 which is 17.33% below the target of    3.75% set by the Board.
3.      During the year, 164 CC rakes were formed for better reliability and performance for achieving loading target given by the board. This is the highest no. of CC rakes formed ever on SECR in a year which helped this Railway to exceed the Board’s loading target.
4.      During the year, 35 CC rakes certified for 7500KM run have been formed in Raipur division in a year.
5.      During the year, 2217 Premium rakes have been examined and BPC with validity of 12 days has been issued at PP Yard Bhilai, BMY, Bilaspur, Korba, Dongargarh and Gondia.
6.      A total of 889 FWU wagons have been handed over to stores department during the year for condemnation against Board’s target of 616FWU.
7.      Wagon Impact Load Detector system has been installed and commissioned on trial basis at Pauwara in MXA-DRZ section.

Coaching :-

1.    Contract for work of Retrofitment of cushioned seat in GS/SLR coaches and middle berth in ACCN/GSCN coaches were finalized and letter of acceptance were issued during the year. Retrofitment of cushioning was done on 50 coaches and Retrofitment of middle berth was done on one sample GSCN and ACCN coach during the year to gain the experience of problems to take on the work on large scale at Bilaspur and Raipur.
2.     Coaching ineffective percentage remained in control at 7.9% cumulative upto Mar’08 which is 21% below the Board’s target.
3.     There was no detachment in coaching stock during the year.

Diesel :-   

Diesel Loco Shed, Raipur(BG):

1.     During the year, average freight loco outage was maintained at 50.65 which is 6.9% above target outage.
2.     Diesel loco failures based at Raipur diesel shed have reduced by 28.9% compared to last year.
3.     Punctuality loss cases of Raipur based locomotive have reduced by 17.6% compared to last year.
4.     5 micro controller based governor were fitted on Raipur based locomotives during the year.

WORKSHOP :-
Wagon

Repair Shop, Raipur :-

1.     The shop outturn during the year 2007-2008 has been 4143 VUs, i.e 4.9% higher than outturn   of 3948 VUs during 2006-2007 with NIL NTXR rejections.
2.     During the year 2007-08 WRS executed deposit work worth Rs. 5.73 Crores for non Railway customers.
3.     Rehabilitation of BOXN wagons was completed on 225 Wagons during 2007-08 against RSP sanction of the Board. 4.     Sick marking within 90 days of POH has reduced from 185 in 2006-07 to 175 in 2007-08.
Motibagh Workshop :-

1.   Motibagh workshop has manufactured 18 All steel body NG coaches during the year.
